Lindell failed to replicate his opening day form in the later rounds – “There was no room for errors from the tee here.”

Oliver Lindell played the final round on Saturday with a score of 70 (par). His overall score of -3 puts him in 30th place in the competition. The final round result was achieved with three bogeys and three birdies. He managed to score one birdie on a par 3 hole, one on a par 4 hole and one on a par 5 hole. The Finnish player dominated the fifth hole throughout the week, scoring a birdie on it in every round.

Sunday’s round followed much the same pattern as yesterday. The Porvoo native was unable to maintain his opening day form during the subsequent rounds.

“A very similar day to yesterday. Today, I just didn’t get off to a hot start like I did yesterday. The putts didn’t drop today either. Well, this week is over now, and I’ll try to get home from here, as there are no flights available as I would have liked, and I won’t be playing here next week. I’ve got at least a couple of weeks off ahead of me.”

Lindell’s clear goal this week was to finish in the top three, which would have earned him a place in one of the season’s main events, The Open. After performing well at The Open last year, Lindell will be aiming for a place in the competition again this year through the qualifiers. With his improved level of play this year, making the cut and finishing in the 20-30 range will not satisfy the ambitious Finnish player.

“There was no room for errors of the tee here, as it’s practically impossible to make a birdie from the rough. There were also challenges with the putter compared to earlier tournaments this season. I didn’t manage to get the putts all the way to the hole on slow greens,” said Lindell.

South Africa’s Casey Jarvis (-14) has taken a firm hold on his second consecutive victory on the tour. He could repeat the feat that Patrick Reed has already achieved earlier this season, as Jarvis also celebrated victory a week ago in Kenya.
