Lindell steadily improving his results day by day – "I'm very happy with my new driver"

Oliver Lindell continued his familiar pattern this week on Saturday, when he once again managed to play a brilliant front nine, which he finished with an eagle on the 9th hole today. The Finnish player managed to hit the par 5 hole with two strokes five metres from the hole and sank his eagle putt, finishing the day four strokes under par.

"Today I hit four drives, which is three more than yesterday. I hit a good drive on the ninth, which left me with a much shorter distance to hit my second shot onto the green compared to yesterday. I hit my iron shot to about six metres and sank a good putt from there. On that hole, however, you have to hit over tall trees if you want to reach the green in two. I am very happy with this new DS-Adapt X driver," said Lindell.

Lindell managed to sink several putts from further away today, and after a birdie on the 11th hole, he rose to fifth place with the round still in progress. However, he had an unfortunate double bogey on the 16th hole when his opening shot ended up in the water and the Porvoo native missed his short bogey putt.

"Every day is different. Today I missed a couple of short putts, but otherwise my putting was really good. My drive was good, but one tee shot slipped into the water, which led to a double bogey when I missed the short putt. That was the worst shot of the tournament, after which I hit a couple of irons 'right into Canada' on the next few holes, but luckily we got through them."

After that, the Finnish player finished the round with a clean score of -3, which currently puts him in T20 with a total score of -6. However, the difference to the top ten will only be a few strokes. Austria has been blessed with sunny and fairly calm weather, which has lifted the spirits, and the windless conditions suit Lindell's strong iron play perfectly.

"It's like summer here, and today there was a nice crowd watching the Austrian guy I was playing with. If I can improve a little tomorrow, we'll have another good week," said the Porvoo native, who is playing the best golf of his career.

The German duo of Schneider and von Dellingshausen share the lead after seven holes with a score of -11. Young Martin Couvra, who celebrated victory in Turkey, was briefly alone at the top of the leaderboard, but a triple bogey on the 12th hole dropped him behind the Germans.
